Balancing act!
It's Mumbai calling for Rituparna but she isn't ready to leave her home turf.
Rituparna Sengupta is treading a path of reinvention by doing what she has never done before. The actor is planning to hold a big stage show on Tagore in Mumbai and that too in Hindi.
"It is an ambitious plan and I want to do work on it for sometime before I put up the show. I have the basic outline in my mind. Now I will have to do the detailing," said Sengupta.
The actor is on a Mumbai sojourn these days. After Main Meri Patni Aur Woh, it's now Uns for her. "Talks are on with a few other directors.
Let me sign on the dotted line and then I will let you know," said the actor. Talking about Uns, the actor said, "I play the role of Riya Malhotra who is married but there is another person in her life. Director Bhupender J Gupta beautifully deals with the human emotions that are missing in our mechanical lives these days.
He focuses on the sanctity of marriage and there are some beautiful sequences in the film shot in Mahabaleshwar and Goa." Uns stars Sanjay Kapoor, Sudhanshu Pandde and Juhi Babbar in lead roles apart from Sengupta.

After working in Mumbai, isn't it tough getting back to the Kolkata studios? "Kolkata is in my vein so it will be very weird if I start complaining about this place after doing a couple of films in Mumbai.
But I would definitely like to add that since the budget in Hindi films is more, one is provided with more comfort," said the actor. The comfort includes airconditioned make-up vans, personal staff like hairdressers and make-up artistes.
"But I must say within the limited budget there is an effort being made in Kolkata. For instance, when we were shooting for Anuranan at a bazaar near CIT road, a make-up van was provided for the outdoor shoot. So there is no denying the fact that efforts are on."
True. Rituparna is sure upbeat about the situation in Tollywood, but how does she feel when everyone asks her if she ie leaving her home turf? "Actually there is no reason to ask that. With eight films on the floor and four films to be released, I think I am pretty grounded in Tollywood.
I am actually doing the balancing act between Tollywood and Bollywood." And doing it well too!
